44 Who’s Who of Lighting April 2007 IMAGES Top: In the centre of the Museum of the Portuguese Language, there is the ‘Gallery of Influences’ – a large area designed to illustrate the influences upon the Portuguese language, with vertical triangular prisms, internally lit by fluorescent lamps. Along the wall, a time- line shows the history of the language, illuminated by custom-made fluorescent wall-washers. Lighting design by Franco and Fortes Lighting Design. Photograph: Andrés Otero. Bottom: The auditorium of the Museum of the Portuguese Language has dimmed halogen indirect lighting (asymmetrical projectors) highlighting the roof structure. Its rear wall panel opens at the end of each presentation, giving access to the ‘language square’, where audiovisual sessions take place, while the glass floor has luminous texts spread across it (composed by electroluminescent tapes fixed below the glass).
