Nagang.Exhibition.Centre.from.13th.to.16th.April. this.year,.the.Taiwan.External.Trade.Development. Council.(TAITRA).invited.journalists.from. specialist.lighting.publications,.including.Lighting,. to.a.pre-show.tour.of.the.facilities.of.a.number.. of.export-oriented.companies,.that.will.be. exhibiting.at.the.show..I.had.attended.a. similar.tour.in.2013.and.in.the.two.years.since,. TAITRA.made.great.improvements.in.selecting. companies.that.more.closely.matched.the. readerships.of.the.magazines..Here.are.a.few. highlights.from.the.tour.held.from.the.17th.to. 19th.November.last.year. The.following.companies.were.visited:.Alder. Optomechanical.Corp.in.Taoyuan.(www.alder. com.tw);.Shinyu.Light.in.Hsinchu.(www.shinyou. com.tw);.Epoch.Chemtronics.in.Hsinyuan. Hsien.(www.lighting-epoch.com);.Zhao-Neng. Technology.in.Zhonghe.(www.gp-tech.com.tw);. Ledlink.Optics.in.Zhonghe.(www.ledlink-optics. com);.Rainbow.Light.Technology.in.Taoyuan. (www.rainbow-light.com.tw);.Anteya.Technology. Corp.in.Kaohsiung.(www.anteya.com).and.TYC. Brother.Industrial.in.Tainan.(www.tyc.com.tw).. I.have.included.the.company’s.websites.for. interested.readers. Taiwan.is.renowned.for.its.optoelectronics. industry.that.supplies.much.of.the.world’s.quality. LEDs..It.is.also.well-known.as.a.manufacturer. for.OEM.finished.products..Some.companies. are.also.promoting.their.own.brands,.eg,. Epoch.Chemtronics,.that.stated.in.1997.as.a. backlighting.manufacturer.for.smartphone,. tablet.and.industrial.computer.applications,.now. manufactures.LED.lamps,.downlights.and.flat. panels.under.its.Epoch.Lighting.brand. Taiwan International Lighting Show TAIWAN REPORT TYC.Brother.Industrial.is.one.of.the.world’s. largest.manufacturers.land.transport.lighting. systems.to.OEMs.and.to.the.replacement.. market..The.opportunities.created.by.LEDs. have.been.incorporated.into.those.products. but.the.company.has,.in.recent.years,.built.. up.a.significant.range.of.indoor.and.outdoor. lighting.equipment,.including.roadlighting,.. in.its.own.name,.as.TYC. Anteya.Technology,.established.in.2003,. is.shifting.into.intelligent/smart.lighting.and. related.building.automation,.building.on.its.. Epoch Lighting’s flat Red Dot Award winning 4.3 W LED lamp shown in an artistic bracket. It produces 335 lm mainly to the lower hemisphere from a large diffusing surface. Immersion testing of outdoor LED luminaires and drivers at Alder Optomechanical Corp. base.in.LED.indoor.and.outdoor.luminaires.. and.colour.changing.retrofit.lamps.and.modules.. Shinyu.Light,.founded.in.2010,.specialises.in.. the.R&D,.design,.manufacture.and.branding.. of.a.wide.variety.of.energy-saving.LED. lighting.luminaires..It.is.also.producing.its.. own.branded.products.and.since.2011.has. produced.a.range.of.high.power.LED.luminaires. with.advanced.thermal.management.developed. with.the.National.Tsinghua.University..Its. outdoor.products.can.be.produced.to.IP68.. and.incorporate.triple.O-rings. Ledlink.Optics.was.another.fascinating. company.to.visit:.established.in.2008,.it. designs.and.manufactures.optics.for.solid. state.lighting.companies.such.as.Cree,.Edison,. Lumileds,.Nichia,.Osram,.Samsung.and.Seoul.. Lenses.are.available.in.a.wide.variety.of. package.with.numerous.beam.pattern.options. and.sizes,.for.residential,.commercial,.street.. or.architectural.lighting. In.previous.articles.about.TILS,.I.have. mentioned.Rainbow.Light.Technology. that.manufactures.micro-spectrometers. incorporating.a.concave.grating..These. handheld.instruments.are.inexpensive,.giving. SPD.graphs,.Ra,.CCT.as.well.as.illuminance.. The.company.has.introduced.a.wide.range. of.quality.control.test.instruments.suitable. for.manufacturers..It.also.does.specialist. development.for.clients,.for.example,.sorting. plastics.based.of.the.polymer.reflection.or. transmittance.characteristics.or.the.control.of. plant.growth..Another.company,.Zhao-Neng. Technology,.part.of.a.larger.group.involved. in.SMD.and.similar.manufacturing.machinery. (Powermatch.and.GP.Technology).has.a.range. of.handheld.instruments.including.the.MF250N. Flicker.Meter.for.assessing.LEDs..The.same. company.houses.Cap-Homey.that.produces. smart.home.integrated.systems.that.are. compatible.with.z-wave,.wifi,.zigbee,.enocean. and.bluetooth. The.tour.gave.a.very.good.introduction.to. some.of.the.companies.that.will.be.exhibiting.at. TILS.2016.(www.tils.com.tw)..You.might.consider. attending.–.it.gives.you.a.different.perspective. from.those.in.Guangzhou.and.Hong.Kong..
